Name:     James R. Daoust Sr.

Born:       July 3, 1922

James R. age 95 passed away Sept 8. Born July 3, 1922 in Bay City Michigan. In WW11 was a US Navy officer commissioned to the USS Indianapolis, the attack transport USS Collingsworth and lieutenant J.G. served aboard battle ship USS Wisconsin until 1947.

Memorial Mass: Friday, Oct. 6, 2017
Attended University of Michigan Law school graduating 1950 and practiced to the age of 94. An unquenchable thirst for the outdoors lead him to the ski the slopes of the world. Sking with family, friends, Olympians and Heads of State. Joined the Bayview Yacht Club in 1959 acquired a bountiful 29 Mackinac races and enjoyed countless Regattas. 1967 joined the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club becoming Commodore in 1985, from these premeir yacht clubs forged life long friendships and road the waves of adventure. Wind always in his sails. 1951 joined the Grosse Pointe Theatre embracing lifes drama to the day he past. Survived by devoted sons James Jr. and Peter. Predeceased by beloved wife Marjorie. Memorial mass set for Friday October 6 at 10:30am Our Lady Star of The Sea Church in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan. Internment at Lake View Cemetery in Bellaire, Michigan. Memorial bequest may be made to the Grass River Natural Area P.O. Box 231 Bellaire, Michigan 49615 (231) 533-8314 in memory of James R. Daoust and Marjorie A. Daoust.
