Festivities, fun and fellowship Senior Men’s Club proves age is just a number
Some members of the Grosse Pointe Senior Men’s Club laugh about the reason people don’t want to join the group. Men in their 70s, 80s and 90s, they say, don’t want to be part of something with “senior” in the title. However, members like Ken Mokray and John Prost proudly tout their membership and speak happily about the camaraderie and fun they experience belonging to the club, which formed in 1959. “It’s about making connections,” said Mokray, a Grosse Pointe Woods resident who joined nearly two years ago. “Socialization is the key to a long life.”
